Your eyes always have a measurable field of horizontal and vertical view. This field encompasses everything you can see, no matter where you turn your head. The X10 Sentinel PTZ camera has a field of view just like you do. The vertical field of view refers to how far it can look up and down without physically moving, similar to the way you can look up at a movie screen or a display of fireworks with your eyes without moving your head.

The Sentinel's vertical field of view when motionless is 30 degrees downwards. When moving down further, or tilting, the camera is able to physically move in an area spanning 30 degrees. Combine a tilting range of 30 degrees with a vertical field of 30 degrees, and the X10 Sentinel has a total vertical viewing area of 60 degrees. When mounted on a corner of the ceiling, for example, the Sentinel would be able to view the room from top to bottom. With the Sentinel, you won't have to worry about missing anything!
