The minimum object distance refers to the how far away the object of the picture has to be in order to capture the image clearly. This is really only something that has to be worried about in film cinematography; since the Sentinel is meant to be used as a security camera, this isn't so much a concern. You'll likely be using this camera to record entire rooms, rather than close up objects.

Regardless of that, if you wish to monitor something at extremely close range you still can. The Sentinel's minimum object distance to capture objects in focus is only 5 centimeters, so the Sentinel can easily be applied to all your Security needs.
